Kate Hedin is a violist currently residing in Baltimore, MD. Recently graduated from the Peabody Institute of Music with a Masters of Music in viola performance, Kate freelances in the Baltimore and D.C. areas. Kate Hedin has had experience teaching students of all ages and levels, including holding the position of music teacher at the St. Anne's Day Camp (2006), in Atlanta, GA, teaching general music classes to children ages 2-6. While living in Atlanta, Kate volunteered at the Emmaus House, an inner-city community outreach facility, teaching violin and viola lessons to young students. Also while in Atlanta, and as principal violist of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, Kate occationally acted as substitute teacher of the weekly sectional coachings. With a passion for chamber music, Kate Hedin has also had experience as a peer coach for fellow student quartets at both the Cleveland Institute of Muisc(2001-2005) and the Allegheny Summer Music Festival (2002-2003)

Her other teaching skills include extensive experience as a professional swing dance instructor. Kate Hedin, along with her dance partner Bobby White, can be seen teaching swing dance classes at some of the most prestegious dance workshop weekends and camps across the Uninted States, Canada, France, and England.
